How does the free trial work?+
Install Klackey and use every feature free for 14 days. No credit card, account, or commitment is required.
What happens when my trial ends?+
Nothing is deleted. You can still open Klackey and browse, search, and export everything you've created. Editing and background features (clipboard capture, text expansion, quick-paste) pause until you activate a license, and pick up right where you left off once you do.
Is Klackey a text expander or a clipboard manager?+
Both. Klackey combines a text expander, clipboard manager, and snippet library in one app, so you don't need to run separate tools for typing shortcuts and clipboard history.
Where is my data stored?+
On your computer. Klackey is local by design, so your clippings and notes are not uploaded to our cloud. Secure Folders add a protected place for sensitive clippings.
Does Klackey replace my password manager?+
Klackey's Secure Folder protects sensitive reusable text and lets you insert it using abbreviations without displaying the stored value. It's especially useful for long passwords and credentials that might otherwise be kept in documents or spreadsheets. Klackey is not a full password manager and does not provide features such as website matching, breach monitoring, or shared vault administration.
Can I use Klackey offline?+
Yes. Klackey works offline because your data and the app live on your computer.
Can I import Firefox Clippings?+
Yes. Bring your Firefox Clippings library into Klackey so the phrases you rely on can work outside your browser, too.
How many computers can I use?+
A Klackey Pro license includes activation on up to two personal computers for one person.
Does my license work on Windows and macOS?+
Yes. Klackey licenses are not tied to one operating system. You can activate Klackey on up to two supported personal computers, whether they run Windows or macOS. Both versions are available now.
How do updates work?+
Your purchase includes 12 months of updates (the Update Period). Klackey keeps working after that either way. Renewing just adds another 12 months of new updates.
Does Klackey use AI?+
The Klackey app itself does not use AI—your clippings and content stay on your computer and are never sent to an AI service. The optional Klackey Support Assistant on this website uses Claude to answer product questions from Klackey's documentation.

How is my license activated?+
After purchase, you’ll receive a license key by email. Enter it in Klackey to activate Pro.
