How often does Klackey back up automatically?+
Once a day, checked automatically without any action from you. The last 7 backups are kept; older ones are removed as new ones are written.
Where are backups stored?+
Locally, in Klackey's data folder on your own computer. Settings, Backups, "Open folder" takes you straight there. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.
What's the difference between Restore and Import?+
Restore replaces everything currently in Klackey with the contents of the backup file you choose. Import adds to what's already there instead of replacing it. Settings, Backups has both, along with "Back up now" for an on-demand backup outside the daily schedule.
Do I need to set anything up for automatic backups to work?+
No. It runs on its own, once a day, with nothing to configure. "Back up now" in Settings, Backups is there if you want one immediately, for example right before a big cleanup.
What happens to my Secure Folder if I restore on a different computer?+
Secure Folder content is normally encrypted in a way that's tied to the computer it was created on. Setting an optional backup password in Settings, Backups re-encrypts that content with a portable key, so a backup can be restored on a replacement machine by entering the same password again.
