Klackey is a local desktop app for technical support engineers, help-desk technicians, system administrators, MSP technicians, and escalation engineers: reusable commands and scripts, troubleshooting runbooks organized by system or client, searchable ticket history, and screenshot OCR for pulling text out of a log or error dialog.

Built from real support work

Made by a support engineer
who needed this to exist.

Klackey’s founder is a Senior Principal Oracle Support Engineer who relied on a library of troubleshooting steps and reusable replies every day, until a support-system migration blocked the extension they depended on. Klackey grew out of rebuilding that workflow as a real desktop app.

Write it once, fill in the specifics

Turn a command
into a fillable snippet.

Save a command or script you run often as a snippet with an abbreviation, or go further with a Dynamic Snippet: write it once with {{fill:Label}} tokens for the parts that change, and Klackey asks for the hostname, ticket number, or account before pasting the finished command.

Your template, once
ssh admin@{{fill:Hostname}} # ref ticket {{fill:Ticket Number}}
Type the abbreviation, answer two quick promptsHostname: db-prod-04
Pasted, instantly
ssh admin@db-prod-04 # ref ticket 48213

Keep known fixes
somewhere you’ll actually find them again.

Longer troubleshooting steps, escalation paths, and reference notes belong in Notes, organized into binders however your work is actually split, by system, by client, or by ticket queue, so the next similar issue doesn’t start from scratch.

Find what worked. Read the error without retyping it.

Search your history.
Capture the log line in front of you.

Global search reaches every command, note, and recent copy from a keyboard shortcut, without opening Klackey first, so you can check what fixed this exact error last time before troubleshooting from scratch. When the problem is a screenshot instead of text, snip the terminal window, log line, or dialog and Klackey extracts the text with on-device OCR, nothing ever leaves your computer.

Admin credentials shouldn’t live in plain history

Generate and store credentials
without a password spreadsheet.

Generate a strong random password for a new service account or admin login right in the editor, and keep SSH keys, VPN configs, and other sensitive access details out of regular clipboard history and search entirely, in Klackey’s separate, encrypted Secure Folder.

One app for the whole workflow

Everything above
lives in the same local app.

Text expansion

Type a short abbreviation, paste the full command, script, or reply, anywhere on your computer.

Clipboard history

Everything you've copied recently, searchable, so a hostname or ticket number is never lost to a second copy.

Screenshot and OCR

Snip a terminal window, log line, or error dialog and pull the text out with on-device OCR, nothing uploaded.

Notes and binders

File runbooks and known fixes into folders by system or client, searchable later.

Password generator

Generate a strong random password for a service account or admin login without leaving the editor.

Secure Folder

Keep SSH keys, VPN configs, and admin credentials out of regular history, encrypted separately.

Questions, answered

Good to know.

Is this a shared ticketing or documentation platform for my team?+

No. Klackey is a local desktop app that runs on one person's computer. If several technicians want to use it, each installs their own copy; there's no shared server or live sync between them. You can still hand a teammate a starting library: export a folder of commands or runbooks as a Klackey file and they import it into their own app. For multiple licenses, contact Support@Klackey.com about business pricing.

Can I keep runbooks separate per client or system?+

Yes. Notes are organized into binders, so you can keep one binder per client, per system, or however else you split your work, each independently searchable.

Does a command or script keep its exact formatting?+

Yes. Snippets are stored as HTML plus plain text, so pasting into a terminal, ticketing tool, or document keeps the right formatting or plain text depending on where it lands.

Is the password generator or OCR sending anything over the network?+

No. Both run entirely on your computer. Password generation uses a cryptographically secure local random number generator, and OCR runs through a bundled, offline engine. Nothing is uploaded either way.

What happens when my trial ends?+

Nothing is deleted. You can still open Klackey and browse, search, and export your library. Editing and background features (clipboard capture, text expansion, quick paste) pause until you activate a license, and pick up right where you left off once you do.
