Turn repetitive typing into a shortcut

Write it once.
Type three characters from now on.

Create an abbreviation such as ;followup and expand it into a complete, formatted reply, links, formatting, and all, wherever you’re typing.

Customize how this feature works, including case-insensitive matching and your own global hotkeys. Abbreviations need at least 2 characters to trigger, so ordinary typing doesn't fire one by accident.

Text expansion,
start to finish.

A short walkthrough of creating an abbreviation and using it anywhere on your computer.

Personalize before you paste

Ordinary text expansion
breaks when the details change.

Dynamic Snippets handle that. Create a snippet like Hello {{fill:Customer Name}}, I reviewed your request about {{fill:Product Name}}..., and when you use it, Klackey asks for the customer and product names before inserting the finished response. No editing placeholders after pasting.

Your snippet, once
Hello {{fill:Customer Name}}, I reviewed your request about {{fill:Product Name}}...
Type the abbreviation, answer two quick promptsCustomer Name: Priya
Pasted, instantly
Hello Priya, I reviewed your request about Klackey Pro...

Once you’ve saved more than a few

Every abbreviation you create
lives in your snippet library.

Folders, tags, pinning, and sorting by how often you actually use each one, organizing what you’ve saved is its own part of Klackey, separate from the abbreviation that triggers it.

typing the same thing twice.

More than a text expander

Your snippets also become
an organized, searchable library.

Folders and tags

Organize the snippets you rely on, not just a flat list of abbreviations.

Rich clippings

Every snippet is stored as formatted HTML plus plain text, so it pastes well anywhere.

Global search

Find any snippet from a global shortcut, without opening Klackey first.

Clipboard history

Text expansion and clipboard history live in the same app, not two separate tools.

Local backups

Daily local backups help keep your snippet library safe and easy to restore.

Secure reusable text

Keep sensitive snippets like passwords out of regular history in the encrypted Secure Folder.

Bring your existing snippets

Klackey can import supported content from a Firefox Clippings backup, a CSV export, or a folder of Markdown, plain text, RTF, or HTML files, plus Microsoft OneNote notebooks (.onepkg or .one files, Windows only). Organize what comes in and assign abbreviations to the entries you use most.

Good to know.

How is a Dynamic Snippet different from a regular abbreviation?+

A regular abbreviation always expands into the exact same text. A Dynamic Snippet uses {{fill:Label}} tokens, so Klackey asks you to fill in the changing details before it pastes the finished, personalized response.

Does the expanded text keep its formatting?+

Yes. Snippets are stored as HTML plus plain text, so pasting into an HTML-aware app (email, wikis, ticketing tools, CMS fields) keeps formatting, while plain-text targets get clean text.

Can I bring in snippets I already use somewhere else?+

Yes. Klackey can import a Firefox Clippings backup, a CSV export, or a folder of Markdown, plain text, RTF, or HTML files, and turn them into editable clippings with their own abbreviations.

Does text expansion work in every application?+

Klackey's global quick-paste shortcut and abbreviation expansion work system-wide on Windows, in whatever application currently has focus.

What happens when my trial ends?+

Nothing is deleted. You can still open Klackey and browse, search, and export everything you've created. Editing and background features (clipboard capture, text expansion, quick paste) pause until you activate a license, and pick up right where you left off once you do.
