Clipboard Manager for Mac

A clipboard manager for Mac
that remembers more than one thing.

macOS keeps exactly one thing on the clipboard at a time; copy something new and the last one is gone. Klackey adds searchable clipboard history, reusable clippings, text expansion, notes, and OCR, all stored locally on your Mac.

Stop losing things you copied

Your Mac clipboard
has no memory at all.

Windows at least has a limited built-in clipboard history (Win+V). macOS doesn’t have anything like it: copy one thing, then copy another, and the first is gone for good. There’s no history to search, no way to keep a clipping permanently, and no way to turn something you paste often into a typing shortcut.

What Klackey adds

Everything you copy,
organized and reusable.

Search past copies

Find text and images you copied earlier, without digging back through the app you copied them from.

Permanent clippings

Keep the entries you use often instead of letting them fall out of history.

Folders

Organize clippings the way you organize anything else you come back to.

Global quick paste

Search your library from any application with a keyboard shortcut, then paste straight into the field you were just in.

Abbreviations

Turn a clipping into a short trigger, like ;license, that expands into the full text wherever you're typing.

Notes and binders

Keep longer reference material organized and searchable alongside your clippings.

Filter and sort

Narrow history to a date range or images only, then sort newest or oldest first, right from the toolbar.

Remove duplicates

Turn on duplicate removal in Settings, and copying something already in history keeps just the latest copy, not both.

Find it without switching windows

Search from anywhere.
Paste into whatever you’re doing.

Open Klackey’s quick-paste search with a global shortcut, find the clipping you need, and paste it directly into the active application. No digging back through old emails, documents, browser tabs, or chats.

From clipboard entry to shortcut

Copied something
you’ll need again?

Save it as a permanent clipping, give it an abbreviation, and reuse it from any application. ;license can expand into a complete, formatted customer response, typed once and used for as long as you need it.

More history, easier to search

2,000 entries deep.
Still easy to find the one you need.

Klackey keeps your last 2,000 clipboard entries searchable and organized, including up to 50 recent images. Filter history to a date range like today, this week, or this year, switch to images only, and sort newest or oldest first, all from the history toolbar. Turn on duplicate removal in Settings and copying something already in history keeps just the latest copy instead of both.

Sensitive entries stay separate

Not everything belongs
in regular clipboard history.

Klackey’s encrypted Secure Folder keeps passwords and other sensitive reusable text out of normal clipboard history and search, and lets you insert them by abbreviation without ever displaying the saved value.

See how Secure Folder works
One app instead of several

Clipboard history, quick paste,
and text expansion, together.

Klackey combines clipboard history, quick paste, reusable text and image clippings, text expansion, Dynamic Snippets, notes and binders, Screenshot capture and OCR, local backups, import and export, and the Secure Folder, all in one local Mac app.

Customize how this feature works, including how much history Klackey keeps, whether duplicates are removed automatically, and your own quick-paste hotkey.

Questions, answered

Good to know.

Does macOS have its own clipboard history?+

No. Unlike Windows, macOS doesn't have a built-in clipboard history feature at all, not even a limited one. Copy something new and the old one is gone. Klackey adds the searchable history, permanent clippings, and text expansion macOS doesn't include on its own.

Will Klackey for Mac have the same features as Windows?+

Yes. Klackey runs from the same codebase on both platforms, so clipboard history, quick paste, Dynamic Snippets, Notes, Screenshot + OCR, and the Secure Folder all work the same way. The differences are native Mac chrome: menu bar instead of tray, Cmd shortcuts instead of Ctrl, and so on.

How much clipboard history does Klackey keep?+

Up to 2,000 recent entries, including up to 50 images, kept locally and fully searchable. You can filter history to a date range or images only, sort it newest or oldest first, and optionally turn on automatic duplicate removal in Settings.

Is clipboard data uploaded to the cloud?+

No. Klackey stores your clipboard history, clippings, and notes locally on your Mac. No account is required to use the app, and sensitive entries can go in the encrypted Secure Folder instead of regular history.

Is Klackey for Mac available yet?+

Yes. Klackey for Mac is signed and notarized by Apple, available now as a free 14-day trial, with the same feature set as the Windows version.

Will my license work on both Windows and Mac?+

Yes. A Klackey Pro license isn't tied to one operating system. It covers up to two personal computers, whether they run Windows, macOS, or one of each.

Is clipboard history included in my backups?+

Not by default. Klackey's automatic local backups always include your clippings, folders, and notes; the rolling clipboard history log is left out unless you turn on Settings, Backups, "Include clipboard history in backups" (off by default, since history is meant to be a fast-changing record, not a permanent archive). Turn it on and every future backup includes it too, merged back in on restore instead of duplicated. Either way, if there's something in your history worth keeping for certain, save it as a clipping and it'll be organized, searchable, and included in every backup regardless.
