Full formatting toolbar
Bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, font family and size, text and highlight color, headings, blockquotes, alignment, indent, and numbered or bulleted lists.
Every clipping and note opens in the same full editor: a real formatting toolbar, tables and checklists, live dynamic tokens, a pop-out window for longer edits, and a running word and character count, the whole time you're writing.
Digitally signed for Windows and macOS. This is pre-release software. Your feedback will help us prepare Klackey for its public launch.
Everything you'd expect from a real document editor is right there in the toolbar: fonts, colors, headings, lists, alignment, and a few things most reusable-text tools skip entirely.
Bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, font family and size, text and highlight color, headings, blockquotes, alignment, indent, and numbered or bulleted lists.
Select any text and switch it to UPPERCASE, lowercase, Sentence case, Title Case, or iNVERTED cASE from one menu, without retyping it.
Right-click while pasting for Paste as Plain Text, or Paste Special to paste already converted to a specific case.
A dedicated code-block format for commands and snippets, press Enter twice on a blank line to step back out of it.
Any clipping or note can open in a real, separate OS window: the exact same editor and toolbar, just without the sidebar and list crowding the space. Useful for a longer template, a draft you're actively rewriting, or simply wanting more room while you work.
Click Pop Out on any clipping or note.
The main window's copy goes read-only while it's popped out.
Only one place editing a given clipping is ever active at once, so a popped-out window and the main window can never silently overwrite each other's changes.
Beyond ordinary formatting, the Insert menu adds structure and content that updates itself, right from the toolbar.
Stamps the current date and time as fixed text, right now, once.
A real HTML table with adjustable rows and columns, not tab-separated text pretending to be one.
Checklist items with actual clickable checkboxes, not typed dashes or brackets.
Insert a small image inline, stored with the clipping itself (roughly 300 KB limit per image).
A picker for symbols and characters you wouldn't want to hunt through a keyboard shortcut list for.
A separate submenu of live tokens: date, time, clipboard contents, an auto-incrementing counter, a unique ID, a random choice, or a fill-in field.
Hover any clipping or note in the list for a moment and Klackey shows its real, rich-formatted first few lines, bold, links, structure and all, not just the plain-text snippet already visible in the row. Often enough to confirm it's the right one without opening it at all.
The editor keeps a live word and character count visible the whole time you're writing, useful for anything with a length limit, a character-count field, or a reply you're deliberately trying to keep short.
Date & Time in the Insert menu stamps today's date once, as fixed text, right when you insert it. The dynamic date token (under Insert → Dynamic snippet) is a live placeholder instead: it gets recomputed fresh every time that clipping or note is later expanded, so a template you built last month still shows today's date when you use it now.
Yes. Pop out any clipping or note into its own real window, full toolbar included, separate from the sidebar and list. The version in the main window becomes read-only while it's popped out, so there's exactly one place editing it at a time, never two windows silently overwriting each other's changes.
Yes. Hover any row in the list for a moment and Klackey shows its actual rich-formatted first few lines, not just the plain-text snippet already visible in the row, so you can often tell it's the right one without opening it at all.
Yes, updated live as you type, right in the editor.
Yes. Right-click while pasting for "Paste as Plain Text," or use "Paste Special" to paste text already converted to a specific case (UPPERCASE, lowercase, Sentence case, Title Case, or iNVERTED cASE) in one step.
